Clients come to Omnitech with particular technology needs every day. We work very closely with each client in order to define their specific needs and come up with solutions together that will help them function more effectively and efficiently.
NEED
Tasked to rewrite the application that manages the sale and production of Daktronics international and domestic projects, Daktronics turned to Omnitech under the pressure of a fast-approaching project deadline. On top of creating the core application, there was also a desire to create reusable code libraries that could be incorporated into existing and future intranet business applications.
Due to time constraints placed on the project, Daktronics needed resources to augment their in-house development staff. In response, Omnitech supplied a team of two experienced web development specialists. Providing seasoned developers ensured that the time needed to adapt to Daktronics development environment was minimal and that development already in process could continue without interruption.
SOLUTION
In order to meet the needs of the current project as well as future internal applications the project was designed with ASP.NET pages and objects. The Omnitech team leveraged the .NET framework by enhancing current user controls and creating new ones. Additional technologies such as AJAX and XML were used to create reusable client-side scripting libraries. These approaches helped build a library of presentation objects that enhanced the user experience on the site and cut development time by eliminating common and redundant code.
RESULTS
Our developers maintained a strong communication link with the in-house developers to ensure a cohesive team and to properly address any outstanding issues. As design challenges arose, our team members were able to work together to find clear solutions that furthered the goals of the project. This cooperation ultimately helped Daktronics to meet their internal deadline and deliver an application that supported them its corporate vision.

Clients come to Omnitech with particular technology needs every day. We work very closely with each client in order to define their specific needs and come up with solutions together that will help them function more effectively and efficiently.
NEED
RSArchitects, a South Dakota-based firm, has clients in 24 different states. It is very important that they are able to connect with their clients as easily and efficiently as possible. To support this connection with their clients, RSArchitects set out to update their web presence by rebuilding their website. They needed the new site to be very functional and easy to update. In addition, they wanted a collaborative area on the site where both clients and partners could share work files with RSArchitects.
SOLUTION
Omnitech provided development and project management resources to build a flexible site that allows RSArchitects employees to make their own updates as needed. All of the pages on the site were set up with the Content Editor, giving the website administrator the ability to edit, add or remove page content.
In addition, Omnitech developed a collaborative FTP site to give RSArchitect’s clients and partners the ability to share files online. The website administrator manages all uploaded files and assigns access rights to appropriate clients. Built in notification lets the website administrator know when new files are uploaded to the site.
Omnitech’s graphics team designed the site template and each of the subpages in the layout. Flash was incorporated to add motion and interactivity to the website.
RESULTS
Jeri Breck, RSArchitects Director of Client Services, wrote “Our relationship has evolved over the past four years to Omnitech providing IT services, software consultation and, currently, website design and hosting. Their staff has taken the time to listen and understand our business goals, respond to our present needs and provide a road map to the future. Omintech ensures our business keeps pace with the needs of our clients.
We will continue to invest in our relationship with Omnitech.”

Clients come to Omnitech with particular technology needs every day. We work very closely with each client in order to define their specific needs and come up with solutions together that will help them function more effectively and efficiently.
NEED
Sioux Falls Midwest Wrestling (SFMW) came to Omnitech with several goals in mind. They were planning to host a national youth wrestling tournament and needed to recognize local sponsors on the site and give customers the ability to purchase tickets and other items online. To get to this point, SFMW had worked in conjunction with the Sioux Falls Convention Center and Visitors Bureau (CVB), which was instrumental in making a connection that brought interest to Sioux Falls. To make it simple for SFMW, the back-end programming needed to allow for purchases to be processed without much human interaction (using an automated payment system). They also wanted to give users (whether customers or just those browsing the site) access to tournament participation and results information. And, they also needed to be able to determine how many potential customers came to the website as the result of specific email campaigns.
SOLUTION
Omnitech used Authorize.net as the payment gateway to simplify the process by which customers could purchase tickets and other items. This gateway supports standard credit card transaction processing without needing to store sensitive data within the website.Following up on email campaigns was made easy by using Google Analytics (“a free service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about the visitors to a website”) to see when traffic to the website increased over normal levels. All of the tournament and results information on the site was set up to be content manageable by the administrator of the site. This allows the SFMW to update information as needed.
RESULTS
Wade Behm (Co-Chairman of SFMW Tournaments, Inc.) had the following to say about the project and the success that was achieved by working with Omnitech. “When we decided to submit a proposal to host the AAU Winter Nationals, we knew the cards were stacked against us. South Dakota has never been on the top of the list of youth wrestling states and the number of wrestlers in Sioux Falls is much lower than most communities our size. With a non-reputation for wrestling we knew that we had to offer an event and supporting services that no other community or club could offer. Omnitech’s team took care of a large part of that supporting services category by creating a website that is professional, functional and tailored to meet the needs and expectations of our event participants and competitors. Wrestling is a working class sport. The simple navigation and clean design were just enough to provide the level of information that our website visitors expect without confusing them with information they didn’t need. The backend of the site though was complex enough so that we could collect the appropriate information, process transactions, manage content on the site and perform other administrative functions necessary at various times as our event drew near. The consulting and assistance with Google Analytics was a great value-add. As AAU sent emails to their membership to inform them about the event, we were able to monitor the success of their campaign and advise them of changes they needed to make to their emailing format to increase the penetration for subsequent email blasts. We were also able to differentiate their campaign from others that were directed by our staff and partners. The Authorize.Net payment gateway has provided us with the high level of security that we needed to ensure that our customer’s personal information was secure. Its seamless integration into our site provides a highly professional and comfortable experience that our customers appreciate. We have received high marks from all those that attended our first event and as the second event approaches in a few weeks, the buzz is high. We credit Omnitech’s professional and conscientious staff with providing us with a cost-effective web solution that has most definitely attributed to our success in putting South Dakota back on the youth wrestling map.”
